SHAHID HAMID MIH , Managing Director & CEO

29 years of vast experience in the Hotel Management, Operation and Marketing, having worked with the Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts at Gold Coast Australia, Vancouver, Canada, Jakarta, Indonesia, Singapore and Dhaka has enabled him to understand the intricacies of the Hospitality Industry and Tourism Market both locally and internationally.

He has recently been awarded “The Best Hotelier of the Year 2005” award by the Bangladesh Hotel & Guest House Owners Association.

Shahid Hamid has a strong & proven background in Sales & Marketing, Team Building, Motivation, Finance & Human Resources. After leaving Sonargaon Pan Pacific Hotel in 1996 he set up the first Bangladeshi Hotel Management Company known as “ HOST Management Consultants Ltd” Shahid also operated Brac Centre Inn, owned by BRAC, the largest NGO in the world for 8 years under management & Operation contract. In 2003 Shahid Joined Hotel Sarina as General Manager and within a short period of time effectively established Hotel Sarina’s name in the Hospitality Arena in Bangladesh and earned a remarkable reputation both in terms of revenue performance and image. He was promoted in January 2005 as Executive Director of the Sarina Group to spearhead the Expansion of the Hotel and diversify the business in the tourism sector. Hotel Sarina after completing its expansion has recently been awarded 5 star status.

Shahid is a full corporate member of Hospitality Management formlly known as Hotel & Catering International Management Association (HCIMA) of the United Kingdom, Affiliate member , Cornell Hotel Society, USA, Secretary General of Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA) Bangladesh Chapter, Member SKAL International Bangladesh Member Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh & Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh & Former Vice President of International Hotel Association of Bangladesh (INHAB). Shahid is a regular contributor in Bangladesh travel trade magazines and journals as well as regular participant on hospitality and tourism talk show in national television.

Shahid Hamid is an Honors Graduate & Post Graduate in Public Administration from Dhaka University. With various Institutional and Organizational training that include, a Diploma Degree and General Manager’s Program on Hotel Management from Cornell University- New York, U.S.A.

Over 33 years he has been involved with many prestigious projects both in Thailand and various countries includes Dubai, Singapore, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar,Bangladesh ,USA, Japan, Hong Kong, China and Cambodia. He has been involved with some prestigious hotel projects which include Novotel Suvarnabumi Airport Hotel Bangkok, Royal Cliff Beach Pattaya, Siam City Hotel, Sofitel, Grand Hyatt Bangkok, Novotel Peace Hotel Beijing and The Melia in Hanoi. His company has also received an award, as “One of the Top Ten Architect Year 2006” based in Thailand

Mr. Kwanchai is also involved with various professional organizations. He is the Vice President, Thailand Interior Designers Association, and member of the Association of Siamese Architecture. He is guest lecturer and expert in various Universities including Bangkok University, Silpakorn University.  He did his MBA in 1989 from the Chulalongkorn University, Singapore.Mr. Kwanchai is also the Senior VP and CEO of Bent Severin & Associates Co. Ltd. International Architects and designers Group and President and CEO of KUPPSS Collobations Co. Ltd.
